John has more than 35 years of experience in commercial real estate development, operations and finance. He leads the development group for Cousins and has been involved with some of Cousins’ most significant developments and redevelopments during his 29 years at Cousins, including corporate headquarters for Cox Enterprises, Norfolk Southern and NCR together with mixed use projects Terminus, Gateway Village, Emory Point and Carolina Square.

Before joining Cousins in 1996, John specialized in mid-market business investment and operations with Hutchinson Capital Group and Quest Capital Corp. At these firms, he managed and consulted with a portfolio of 20 operating companies with combined revenues of $1.6 billion. Prior to that, he was an assistant vice president for Wachovia Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Finance Division, where he managed a portfolio of secured office and industrial construction and term loans.

Community Involvement
John is a member of Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2001, and serves as a director and Vice Chair for the Midtown Community Improvement District. He is a past chairman of the Atlanta Police Foundation, is an emeritus trustee and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, and past director of the Kenan Flagler Business School Foundation.
