Construction Update

The grading and concrete are complete, and now construction is shifting to more detail work. For example, did you know the bridge and canopy, which are going in under the Norfolk Southern railroad, are all being built by hand? Due to the site’s complexity, a prefabricated bridge was not possible, so every single beam and post are being individually measured, cut by hand and welded in place. In addition, beautiful cable railings are also being built by hand and installed. Please remember this section of PATH400 is an active construction site, without many safety features installed. For your safety, please refrain from entering the fenced-off section.

Safety on PATH400

While Zone 2 of the Atlanta Police Department actively monitors the entire PARTH400 trail, it is important to stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings. Zone 2 APD is not only a key partner with PATH400, but they are also very responsive to any issues or concerns that need to be addressed.

Unfortunately, the Buckhead community has seen a rise in the number of homeless individuals and Zone 2 APD has been working hard to ensure trail users are not negatively impacted. In addition, PATH400 is built to Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) standards (which helps to deter crime based on layout and design) and cameras on the path are linked to Atlanta Police Department’s Loudermilk Video Integration Center (VIC).
