Lenox Road Section III

Highlights

  • Second section of Lenox Complete Safe Street, a multi-phase project to enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety on Lenox Road between East Paces Ferry Rd. and GA 400
  • Includes a first-of-its-kind elevated pedestrian and bicycle bridge at the GA 400 interchange

The most transformative phase of the Lenox Road Complete Safe Street project, Section III introduces a first-of-its-kind elevated pedestrian and bicycle bridge along the south side of Lenox Road across the GA 400 interchange. The bridge connects to PATH400 and provides seamless connectivity to shopping, restaurants, hotels and other businesses in the area.

An estimated $40-56 million project, Lenox Section III is bolstered by a $10 million federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

About the Lenox Road Complete Safe Street Project

Lenox Road is transforming into one of Buckhead’s most walkable, connected corridors. The Lenox Road Complete Safe Street project spans 1.25 miles from the Lenox MARTA Station to Piedmont Road, reimagining a heavily trafficked stretch of roadway as a safer, more accessible route for pedestrians, cyclists and the businesses that line it.

The project fulfills the recommendations of the Lenox Road Scoping Study, part of the 2017 Buckhead REdeFINED master plan. It is organized into three sections, delivered through a partnership between Buckhead CID, the City of Atlanta, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and MARTA, with engineering support from Pond & Company and Kimley-Horn.
