Your Feedback is Needed

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) would like your feedback in an online survey to hear your ideas on how Georgia’s transportation funding should be spent over the next 25 years.

The Statewide Strategic Transportation Plan (SSTP)/Statewide Transportation Plan (SWTP) is being updated and a major component of the process is considering how transportation spending will impact our state’s economic prosperity and the quality of life for all Georgians.

The survey can be accessed at www.gdot2040.com. Please complete the survey by November 21, 2014.

East Paces Ferry Rd. and Pharr Rd. Resurfacing

A part of the 2014-2015 resurfacing program, the City of Atlanta (COA) has programmed funding for the resurfacing of East Paces Ferry Road and Pharr Road from Piedmont to Peachtree. The Buckhead CID and COA will collaborate on the engineering process in order to maximize the transportation benefits from these two corridors.

West Paces Ferry Rd. Restriping

In 2014, the Buckhead CID hired Kimley-Horn and Associates to develop a plan to redesign traffic lanes on West Paces Ferry Rd. between Peachtree Rd. and East Andrews. Kimley-Horn’s concept layout of this section of West Paces Ferry includes a mid-block crossing between Whole Foods and One Buckhead Plaza.

Habersham Left Turn Lane

The Habersham Left Turn Lane Project connects two existing left turn lanes on Piedmont Road – between Habersham Road and the main signalized entrance to Piedmont Center – with a continuous center (5th) lane.

Charlie Loudermilk Park and the Buckhead Village Streetscapes

Phase 1 of the Village Streetscape project – the area around the intersection(s) of Peachtree Road, Roswell Road and East Paces Ferry Road – is substantially complete! The Buckhead CID’s contractors are waiting for the arrival of new pedestrian street lights and the cooler fall months to plant the new street trees.

Georgia Works! and the Buckhead CID Form Partnership

In January 2014, the Buckhead CID partnered with local nonprofit Georgia Works! to keep Buckhead clean. Georgia Works!, a newly created 501(c)(3), is a proven homelessness intervention and employment program with the goal of offering homeless men an opportunity to work, earn a paycheck and change their habits and mindset from dependency to self-sufficiency.
