Buckhead Community Improvement District Announces Key Changes to Board of Directors
Matt Rendle elected chair, Herbert Ames named vice-chair and Frances Bohn appointed treasurer
ATLANTA – June 5, 2025 – The Buckhead Community Improvement District (CID) has announced a series of leadership transitions on its board of directors, marking the next chapter of the organization’s commitment to create and maintain a walkable, vibrant urban center.
After 14 years of service, including six years as board chair, in late April Thad Ellis stepped down from his position with the CID board. His tenure was instrumental in shaping Buckhead’s urban development, and the organization recognizes his steadfast dedication to countless beautification, accessibility and safety projects.
“Thad’s leadership and vision have been invaluable to the Buckhead community,” said Jim Durrett, executive director of the Buckhead CID. “His dedication to improving the quality of life for those who live, work and visit here has left a lasting impact. We are deeply grateful for his years of service and countless contributions to our mission.”
Matt Rendle, Chief Investment Officer at Selig Enterprises, has been re-elected to the CID board and serves as the third board chair in the CID’s 25-year history. Rendle’s expertise and long-time involvement with the CID will ensure a seamless leadership transition and continuity of the CID’s mission to create a safer, more vibrant and accessible Buckhead community. Additionally, Herbert Ames of Edens has been appointed vice-chair, and Frances Bohn of Jamestown will serve as treasurer.
Further strengthening the CID’s board are re-elected member Heather Lamb of Highwoods Properties and newly elected member John McColl. McColl, executive vice president at Cousins, brings more than 35 years of commercial real estate experience, having led key developments such as corporate headquarters for Cox Enterprises and Norfolk Southern, as well as mixed-use projects like Terminus and Gateway Village.
“We are delighted to welcome Matt Rendle as our new chair,” said Durrett. “With his leadership and the support of our exceptional board members, we are poised to drive impactful change for Buckhead’s businesses and residents. Additionally, we are pleased to welcome John McColl to the board — his expertise and fresh perspective will be instrumental as we move forward.”
