Selection

"Pursuant to state law, six of the nine Buckhead CID board members are elected by the owners of non-residential property within the district. Three of the first six elected board members serve for two year terms, the remaining three initial members serve four year terms. After the initial members' terms all terms are for four years. Elections for board members are held bi-annually.

The three remaining board member positions are appointed by the mayor of the City of Atlanta (one position) and the president of the Atlanta City Council (two positions, one which must be the current chairperson of the city council's finance committee)."
