Buckhead Community Improvement District seeks to add streetscape design standards to Village zoning
The Buckhead CID implemented a streetscape program in east Buckhead Village using its own tax dollars, developer funds, and a grant from the Robert Woodruff Foundation.
Site plan (pdf)
Pattern book (pdf)
In addition to these implementation plans, the CID secured City Council approval of new streetscape design standards for Buckhead Village. Business and property owners and residents reached consensus on design standards for sidewalks, furniture zones, street and pedestrian lighting, crosswalks and building materials for public streetscapes in the area.
To be effective for future developments in the Village not covered in its implementation plan, these new design standards will need to become part of the Village's zoning overlay district. This zoning district (SPI -9) will be expanded and enhanced so that all properties between Peachtree Road, Grandview Ave and Pharr Rd. will be included in the existing district. When the new streetscape design standards are approved by City Council all new developments within the new district will be required to follow the new streetscape standards.
