 | Inter-parcel Access Study |

Peachtree Road and the Buckhead Loop are the only north/south corridors for traffic, pedestrians, bicycles and transit in the Buckhead Commercial District. The lack of mobility connections among commercial properties located between the Loop and Peachtree's eastern edge sometimes create traffic funnels. The result exacerbates congestion, especially on Peachtree Road .
The Buckhead CID conducted a study in order to enhance the roadway and pedestrian connections among commercial properties along Peachtree Road and between the Buckhead Loop and Peachtree.

The implementation of the Peachtree Boulevard transformation will improve traffic flow. The Buckhead CID Board of Directors envisions access alternatives through inter-parcel connections as a needed and logical step following the Peachtree Boulevard transformation design effort.
The creation of alternative road and sidewalk connections between properties -- a modified street grid -- will enhance access to these properties and ease congestion on the Loop and Peachtree Road .
Getting to that result, however, is much easier said than done. Difficult issues to be tackled include: creating access for competitors, structural and terrain barriers, shortage of right-of-way, impact on commercial values, potential disruptions from construction, and funding.
