 About Us
The Buckhead CID is a taxation entity of local government created pursuant to the Georgia Constitution, Article 9, Section 7, the Atlanta Community Improvement District Act, 1991 Ga. L. 3653, as amended and Atlanta City Council Resolution 99-R-1154, July 6, 1999. Pursuant to its authority under Georgia law, the Buckhead CID receives three mils of the assessed value of property in property tax revenue from non-residential property located within its district boundaries. In tax year 1999 the Buckhead CID received approximately $2.2 million in ad valorem tax revenues. Based on the assessed value of properties in the district and the current rate of 3 mils, the Buckhead CID anticipates receiving approximately $5 million in annual revenue in the 2010 tax year.

The Buckhead CID is authorized to expend funds, incur debt and contract with public and private entities for the provision of the following governmental services and facilities:

Construction and maintenance of local, collector and arterial streets, as shown on the city's street classification map or as otherwise included in the city's classification map or as otherwise included in the city's most recently adopted Comprehensive Development Plan, including curbs, sidewalks, street lights and devices to control the flow of traffic on local, collector and arterial streets.

Parks and recreational areas and facilities

Public transportation, including but not limited to services intended to reduce the volume of automobile traffic, to transport two or more persons in conveyances, to improve air quality, and to provide bicycle and pedestrian facilities and the operation of a Traffic Management Association or similar entity.

Parking facilities

Such other services and facilities as may be provided for by general law.
